As a small family run business, Sarah and I have been using this week to regroup and talk about what we can do as individuals, and as a brand to continue to support the black community.

It's easy not to say anything, for fear of saying the wrong thing, offending someone or not knowing enough. Whilst the thought of making such mistakes is scary as a small business, the thought of doing nothing is, for us, scarier.

As a brand, we will continue to, and work harder to engage and show POC across our social media, as well as our marketing campaigns online.

Like many of us, my journey to lessen my impact on the planet began by first looking at food choices, followed by skincare.

Whilst healthy eating and clean skincare are now considered more mainstream choices, if we follow the next logical step and look at our clothing, it can be tricky knowing where to start. 

Personally I have found that once you start digging into the ethics of the fashion industry, things get a little over-whelming. From scary statistics like fashion being one of the most polluting industries in the world, to reports of appalling human rights abuses like the Rana Plaza collapse, how many of us know the real reasons why we should choose one fabric or brand over another.

This holiday season we would love to share why and how we produce our products with respect for our people and the environment.

We hope this article helps to de-mystify some of the jargon around ethical clothing production plus make you can feel great about gifting Hunter+Boo!
